About Private Game Reserves and Lodges.

We have been visitors to the African bush for many years. After each trip we found ourselves describing our experiences to friends and business colleagues and "marking their cards" when they were planning similar trips themselves.

The owners and managers of the reserves and lodges we visited quickly became our friends - often helped by late nights sitting round their campfires - and we would then contact them to tell them when a friend or business aquaintance was heading out their way.

In 1996 we set up our first Internet business - Independent Web Marketing - providing bureau style web and consultancy services for businesses of every type and size operating in diverse market sectors, and as a result we ended up helping quite a few game reserves and lodges to develop their initial presences on the worldwide web.

It is strange to think that in the 1990's lodges were totally cut off from the outside world in a marketing sense and relied solely on tour operators - who in many cases had never been to a specific lodge or reserve - for their clients. Nowadays, the Internet gives the customer a direct link to the reserve or lodge. They can communicate direct, receive information by email within minutes and can see videos, records of game sightings and can book there and then!
