Technical Information Presenting “quality” video footage on the internet requires a balance between quality, speed and the type of media player on the viewers PC or Mac. Without wishing to bore you with unnecessary technical information, we use a Flash based service which involves optimising the 'frame rate', 'audio Frequency', 'global bitrate', 'frame rate dividers' and the 'type' of 'encoding' for each video footage which reduces the file size but also ensures viewable quality on the internet. The end result enables high quality video presentations to be streamed and displayed on a web site without the end user having to download any extra viewing software or to wait for content stream.
African Video Library supports AVI, MOV and MPEG video formats from most digital cameras, camcorders and cellphones and recommends DivX or XviD (MPEG-4) at 320x240 resolution for best results. African Video Library converts all uploaded videos to Flash video, and users must have the Flash player in their computers to play them.
If you are a Lodge Owner and want to use video to promote your establishment, what's the next step?
Producing an on-line video presentation involves the following:
1] We need to discuss your objectives, how long it should last, budget and timescales
2] Once we know more about your organisation and your objectives, we will work with you to draft a script and running order that covers all the key features you want to get across. This can either be delivered verbally as a voiceover, or can be displayed via text on screen. We can also provide background music.
3] You can either film the footage yourself using a digital camcorder and then simply send it to us with instructions OR we can visit you and film the footage for you. If you have the necessary know how, you can even supply your own finished presentation.
4] We will edit the footage and turn it into a finished presentation based on the instructions supplied and/or brief previously discussed. We then compress and convert this to Flash to give maximum speed and excellent quality, and upload it to our servers on our African Video Library site. Finally, we provide your web designer with the necessary code that enables you to link to the presentation and display it as if it was actually hosted on your own web site. We host all the presentations on our own servers to ensure that you do not incur any extra bandwidth charges and that there aren't any compatability issues.
